Doug Jones has been promoted to managing principal to oversee the Dallas-Fort Worth office, which employs more than 300 people.

Jones has been with Cushman & Wakefield since 2015 and previously was a top producer in the office leasing sector. During the last four years, he’s handled more than $450 million in property transactions.

“Doug was built for this role,” John O’Neill, president of Cushman & Wakefield’s Central Region, said in a statement. “He understands the importance of providing best-in-class services to our clients, engaging with colleagues to create a culture of collaboration and is committed to lifting up and developing the talented people around him.”

Jones was an officer and Army Ranger before leaving the military to go into the real estate business.

He moves into the job after last year’s departure of Ran Holman, who previously headed Cushman & Wakefield’s D-FW office. Holman is now heads Texas operations for commercial property firm Newmark.

Cushman & Wakefield is one of the biggest players in the North Texas commercial real estate market.
